A Brush With Divinity has created a video montage of images and poetry from their line of greeting cards. Although the slideshow uses some of the more serious poetry the cards are also for all occasions, my favorites being humorous. You can see more at http://abrushwithdivinity.com/
Customized music for the project was created at Alchemix Museix, by Patrick J. Brown http://museix.com/
In the world today, peace of mind becomes a valuable thing. When my mind becomes overwhelmed by the stresses and worries of life, I find it important to find moments of peace. When I feel relaxed my mind can sort out these seemingly impossible worries, and realize that for the moment everything is all right. I go to my piano for finding this peace within myself. The music that I create is meant to express and share this space with others.
I have recently made available a new collection of piano compositions titled TimePeace. Please take a moment and listen to the audio sample, or visit museix.com to hear more. Iwould appreciate your feedback, and wish you peace in your life!
A new music track created by Fern Ferocious. Help her out by listening to her track. If she recieves the most amounts of clicks and positive feedback she can win time at music camp. Please help her out by enjoying her song. http://c1.endoora.com/Fern_Ferocious/
Fern is raising funds for music camp. Please visit this link and listen to her new songs. One of my favorites is
“6 Minutes”. It’s about summer freedom! Fern writes all of her own lyrics, and sings and engineers her music. Fern is 16 and a gifted artist.
Piano lessons have changed over the years. I feel qualified to say this as I myself was for many years a piano student before being asked to become a music teachers assistant, and eventually a piano teacher.
I have learned so much teaching piano. I learned more about the music I was teaching, and learned about how students felt about the music they played. What was their place of interest. Finding music that is inspiring is very important, as well as just having fun playing piano. I tell my students that although practice can be hard “work”, the goal is to “play” piano. I know that I have had times as a student where it became more work than play, and it was the music itself that kept me coming back to my instrument.
No matter what your aspirations as a student are, if you remember to be playful even in the midst of a “serious” piece, your music will be filled with your own joy. I believe that is the point. Enjoy your music!
A beautiful line of greeting cards, both for serious or playful occasions. Inspiring art unites with sublime poetry to create memorable cards! I recieved one recently and was so moved I had to share the card line with others. Take a moment to look at some of these wonderful pieces.
Someone requested I post a ringtone for Twitter messages. I found a file in my archive from the “LPC Spaces(Alchemix Museix 1997)” album which during a “bird solo” was the perfect thing.
Pianist and composer Jennifer Lin gives a magical performance, talks about the process of creativity and improvises a moving solo piece based on a random sequence of notes.
I particularly love the “on the spot” composition and improvisation demonstrated by Jennifer Lin. Awesome!
Take 20 minutes and enjoy a great performance by a youth orchestra. Inspired? be sure and also watch “Jose Abreu on kids transformed by music” winner of the TED award!
